Who doesn’t like stepping outside and taking a deep breath of fresh air? The TPO is working on letting you know the quality of that fresh air and we want your help! Mark your calendars because we’re hosting the very first Coalition for Community Air Monitoring meeting on April 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Join forces with the Hillsborough TPO, USF College of Public Health, and the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County as we brainstorm ways to expand our Community Air Monitoring Network. We’ll discuss what it means to be a Community Air Monitoring Site and how YOU can get involved.

We’re also looking for future Community Air Monitoring Sites, and we want YOU to be a part of the action. There are eligibility requirements for three types of sites: partner communities, comparison communities, and affiliate communities. More details on qualifications, roles, and responsibilities can be found at Community Air Quality Monitoring Network.

We want to work with you. Keep an eye out for a survey headed your way soon. We want your feedback on where YOU think community air monitoring should happen. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of air quality in our communities, so spread the word, mark your calendars, and get ready to make a difference. Share the Coalition for Community Air Monitoring meeting with your neighbors, friends, and colleagues. Together, we can keep our air clean and our communities healthy.
