Scientist holds tube of water next to river

We are a special Board and Council established by the Florida Legislature* to monitor activities and actions in the Hillsborough River Corridor. The river begins in west central Florida, and enters Tampa Bay in the center of the City of Tampa. River Board recommendations for river management are forwarded to the local political bodies, regulatory agencies and others involved with the river’s overall management for consideration and implementation.

*Laws of Florida Chapter 86-335, June 6, 1986 “Section 1. As used in this act, the term ‘Hillsborough River Corridor’includes that portion of the Hillsborough River beginning at the Platt Street Bridge and extending north to the county line and all land situated within 500 feet of either bank of that portion of the river.”
