The Fowler Avenue Vision Plan is a collaborative planning effort between Plan Hillsborough, the City of Tampa, and Hillsborough County to develop a coordinated land use and transportation strategy for the Fowler Avenue area. The project team needs your help to develop a vision for the area so that the City and County can develop a unified approach to shaping a future for the Fowler Avenue area. Periodically, we review our user fees so we may recover the costs associated with the services we provide to customers. If these fees are not charged or updated, the difference between the cost of the service and what is charged to the applicant is subsidized by taxpayers. This year, the Planning Commission contracted MGT Consulting to review these fees and provide recommendations for adjustment.

As we work to update the Future Land Use Section of the Unincorporated Hillsborough County Comprehensive Plan, one of the major undertakings we employed to gather community input included a major survey. We heard from over 1,800 residents and found the top four priorities YOU wanted to see in the update.
1. Preserve natural areas (20% ranked as #1 priority)
2. Infrastructure and development (17% ranked as #1 priority)
3. Maintain agricultural and rural lands (10% ranked as #1 priority)
4. Variety of mobility choices (6% ranked as #1 priority)

After 13 years of volunteer service to the Hillsborough River Board Technical Advisory Council (TAC), many as the Chair, Dr. Richard Brown is moving on. Dr. Brown leaves a great legacy of success in ensuring the Hillsborough River is a vibrant and healthy system for people and wildlife. Although he steps down from the River Board TAC, we are sure he will still be involved in the protection and conservation of the River into the future.
