The Rewind: August TPO Board Meeting recap 

At its August 9 meeting, the TPO Board selected three finalists for the TPO Executive Director position: Stephen Benson, Vinod Sandanasamy, and Johnny Wong. At the TPO’s September 13 meeting, the full Board will interview each finalist and make a decision. There is also a meet and greet with the candidates on September 12^th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on the 1^st Floor of County Center.  

Next on the agenda was the TPO letter to FDOT regarding their Fowler Avenue PD&E Study. With the consideration of the various Fowler Avenue studies going on, the Board voted unanimously to transmit this important message to FDOT on their preferred configuration to include a dedicated transit lane and significant bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements as well as a reduction in speed in making their final design selection. The Board also requested the treatments of this project should extend all the way to 56^th Street as emphasized by Mayor Ross of Temple Terrace, “Our voices are being heard and our roads are evolving.” 

The Hillsborough County Bicycle Network Evaluation also received a unanimous nod from the TPO Board. It’s a step towards a more connected and bike-friendly community.
