Jocelyn Daniels

What year of your USF program are you in?

I’m a first-year student in USF’s Master of Urban & Regional Planning program.

Why did you choose the Planning Commission for your fellowship?

I chose the Planning Commission because of the outstanding work that is done in the community. The Planning Commission is a team of passionate people that are committed to developing thriving communities. I am so excited to be part of this team and continue to grow in my passion as I learn.

Beneetta Jose

What year of your USF program are you in?

In the second year of my Fellowship, I’m a 2nd-year USF Master of Urban and Regional Planning student.

Why did you choose the Planning Commission for your fellowship?

I chose the Planning Commission because it provided me with practical, real-world exposure to the inner workings of the planning field. It seamlessly bridges the gap between classroom learning and practical application. This invaluable experience significantly continues to enhance my professional growth by providing me with a comprehensive understanding of how transportation projects are funded, as well as the skills needed to engage with elected officials and carry out the diverse responsibilities of a planning agency. Furthermore, it provides me with the chance to forge relationships with experienced planners in the industry, expanding my understanding of the field.

Erica Larson

What year of your USF program are you in?

I am currently in my 2nd year of my Fellowship and the USF Master of Urban & Regional Planning program.

Why did you choose the Planning Commission for your fellowship?

I chose to join the Planning Commission as it presents me with a diverse environment to work on planning-related initiatives in Tampa. I appreciate the opportunity to pursue my master’s degree while gaining practical experience at the same time. The knowledge and guidance I have received so far at Plan Hillsborough are invaluable to me, and I am confident it will have a lasting impact on my career. I am passionate about enhancing the quality of life for those I work for, and this opportunity aligns perfectly with my goals.

What year of your USF program are you in?

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences with a Minor in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of South Florida. I am currently in my first year of the Master of Urban & Regional Planning program.

Why did you choose the Planning Commission for your fellowship?

I chose the Planning Commission to make a positive impact on the future of my community, to improve its quality of life, and to help provide access to vital resources.
