Talk about a strong signal. Over 11,000 people chimed in to share how they’d use a potential Brightline station in Tampa (shoutout to everyone who took the survey in English or Spanish!). Now we’ve got a better picture of how folks might roll into or out of the city, and what’s most important to them.

Here’s what we learned:

If you’re leaving Tampa, you’ll likely hop in your own car and park at the station or get dropped off.

If you’re arriving in Tampa, use a ride-hailing service like Uber or Lyft, which is your go-to, followed by good old walking once you’re downtown.

As for why people are coming to Tampa, the top reasons are:

  1. Checking out local attractions and tourist spots
  1. Attending big events—think concerts, games, and festivals
  1. Visiting family and friends

And when it comes to what really matters in deciding whether to ride Brightline from or to Tampa, three things rose to the top:

  1. Travel time savings
  1. Reliable and frequent service
  1. Fare cost or ticket price

Bonus points were awarded for things like the station’s location, whether there is parking, and whether users feel safe and secure while using it.

So now that we’ve got all these insights, the Brightline vision for Tampa is becoming clearer. Stay tuned. Your future fast train ride might be closer than you think!
