Welcome aboard: Christine Miller joins the TPO Board

The TPO welcomes BOCC Commissioner Christine Miller as its newest Board member, representing County District 4. She steps into the role previously held by former County Commissioner Michael Owen, who has moved on to pursue a role in the state legislature. 

Commissioner Miller is no stranger to transportation and planning issues, having been involved in Plant City’s economic development for many years. She will undoubtedly work to plan for the needs of East and South County. She joins the TPO at a time when many important decisions will soon be made about the future of Hillsborough County as described in the Access 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan. 

We also want to extend our thanks to former Commissioner Michael Owen for his dedicated service. During his time on the TPO Board, the former Commissioner highlighted the transportation needs of his community and played a key role in advancing regional initiatives, including passenger rail service from Tampa to Orlando.
