The TPO Board voted unanimously to approve the TIP Amendment for N Tampa St & N Florida Ave Urban Corridor. These improvements will include stormwater management, new and upgraded crosswalks, wider sidewalks and shared-use paths, and the project supports road safety for all users and planned HART projects including a proposed Bus Rapid Transit system and Light Rail extension. There was also unanimous approval of a minor update to the TPO’s two-year Unified Planning Work Program & Budget, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with USF College of Public Health to carry out the EPA-grant-funded Community Air Monitoring Project. Finally, in a voice vote with two dissenting votes from Councilmember Maniscalco and School Board Member Vaughn, the TPO Board supported the working draft of the MOU on creating a regional Tampa Bay MPO.
