December 2018 – In November, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) appointed Commissioner Stacy White to the Hillsborough River Interlocal Planning Board.

From 2010-2014, Stacy served on the Hillsborough County School Board for the eighth largest school district in the nation with an annual budget of nearly $3 billion and a student population totaling nearly 200,000 students. Elected to the BOCC in 2014, Commissioner White has served as Board Chaplain in 2015, 2017, and 2018/19, and as BOCC Chairman in 2016. He also serves on the:

  • Council of Governments
  • Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group (Alternate)
  • Straz Center for the Performing Arts
  • Tampa Bay Estuary Program Policy Board
  • The Florida Aquarium Board of Directors

After graduating from East Bay High School, he earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida. In addition to practicing pharmacy for 21 years, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy with the University of Florida, where he educates pharmacy students during their internships. In 2006, the university recognized his outstanding work in this capacity by naming him Roche Preceptor of the Year in an Outpatient Setting.

Stacy White is a fifth generation native of Hillsborough County who lives in Valrico with his wife and their three children. They attend New Hope United Methodist Church in Brandon. He and his wife are involved in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA / PTSA, and many other community activities. In their free time, the family enjoys boating, fishing, camping, and Florida Gators athletics. We look forward to Commissioner White’s insights and contributions on the River Board!
