Hillsborough County is seeking a dedicated resident to fill a vacancy on the Hillsborough River Technical Advisory Council. This council plays a vital role in advising the Hillsborough River Interlocal Planning Board by providing recommendations on the development and monitoring of the Hillsborough River Corridor. These efforts help ensure alignment with local comprehensive plan policies that protect and enhance the river.

To be considered for the position, applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in the protection and preservation of the Hillsborough River. The council meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 1:30 PM.

How to Apply: Recruitment for all Hillsborough County citizen advisory boards begins tomorrow. Interested residents must complete the Questionnaire for County Appointments and the Standards of Conduct Form. Both forms can be found here and must be fully completed, signed, and submitted by close of business on January 15, 2025.

For advisory boards requiring a background check, applicants will receive an online link, which must be completed within 72 hours of receipt.

Key Notes:

  • Residents may apply to multiple boards but can only serve on one board at a time unless otherwise approved by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).
  • Applicants will be notified of the selection outcome via U.S. Mail after the voting process.

For further details on the application process and submission instructions, please refer to page five of the Questionnaire for County Appointments or contact Glenda Rotger Navarro, Director of Board Strategic Services, at (813) 272-5826 or [email protected].
