Plan Hillsborough reports on Strategic Plan implementation

Plan Hillsborough Staff participating in strategic planning retreatMarch 2020 – In August 2018, Plan Hillsborough adopted the 2018-2023 Plan Hillsborough Strategic Plan developed in collaboration with the agency’s three boards and staff. The five-year plan outlines near-term objectives across the agency, prioritization of resources, and strategies to enhance the multidisciplinary work of the agency. At the February Planning Commission meeting, staff shared an update on implementation progress with the combined 2019 Reporting: Strategic Plan Implementation & Measures of Effectiveness report. Updates are scheduled in March and April for the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Hillsborough River Interlocal Planning Board.

To ensure implementation is a continued focus in 2020, the agency convened at the annual Plan Hillsborough staff retreat to brainstorm innovative ways to better serve our citizens and enhance internal operations. At the December 2019 retreat, staff were divided into seven teams to discuss specific areas of focus and define steps to success. In 2020, staff will be focused on concrete implementation approaches for the seven Strategic Priorities.

  • Linking Land Use and Transportation
