One Water Chapter

people enjoying a body of waterThe One Water Chapter contains all the water resources-related language for the Unincorporated Hillsborough County Comprehensive Plan, and was developed to reflect the interrelated nature of water. It represents a holistic and integrated approach to planning for potable water, wastewater, stormwater, and the natural environment within Hillsborough County.

The APA Florida Project Awards program recognized the One Water Chapter of the Hillsborough County Comprehensive Plan with an Award of Excellence in the Comprehensive Plan – Large Jurisdiction category at the 2021 Florida Planning Conference held in Miami from August 31–September 3, 2021.

The American Planning Association (APA), County Planning Division (CPD), and its sister organization, the National Association of County Planners (NACP), give out County Planning Project Awards each year.  In 2021, the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission and Hillsborough County received an Award of Excellence in the Comprehensive Plan – Large Jurisdiction category for the One Water Chapter – Hillsborough County Comprehensive Plan.
