MPO remains committed to nondiscrimination

ADA 30th anniversary logoJuly 2020 – On July 26, 2020, we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). President George H. W. Bush signed the law in 1990 with hopes of eliminating discrimination towards individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including transportation. Regulations require reasonable accommodations be made for accessing public services and goods. In addition, it establishes accessibility standards for public and private facilities. If you would like to recognize or celebrate the anniversary, join the free online Disability Unite Festival 2020 on July 26, or sign up to participate in a disability inclusion webinar.

Knowing the importance of the ADA, the MPO is committed to ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to participate in our meetings. The most recent undertaking is working towards meeting Section 508 standards for our website and electronic documents. For details on the MPO’s commitment to nondiscrimination and for information on how to request accommodations for programs or services view our nondiscrimination page.
