John Dicks

John Dicks is an attorney and businessman who has dedicated many years and much energy to public service. He served for three terms as Mayor of his hometown of Plant City, including nine years as City Commissioner.

John’s long history of civic involvement and public service began in 1994 when he was appointed by the Governor to the Board of Trustees for Hillsborough Community College.

The Tampa Bay region has been the area of his focus and has included his representation on the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, Hillsborough County Council of Governments, Hillsborough County Tourist Development Council, Tampa Bay & Company and the Florida League of Cities. For more than 20 years, he has served on the Board of Trustees for South Florida Baptist Hospital, which is part of the regional BayCare system

John is a graduate from the University of Florida with a degree in Public Relations. He earned his law degree from Florida State University where he served on the Law Review.
