On April 9th, 2025, the Hillsborough Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) will review two proposed amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). If approved, these amendments would add the following projects to the TIP:

  • Branch Forbes Road Widening
  • McIntosh Road Widening

These projects have been recently integrated into the Access 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and including them in the TIP will maintain planning consistency with the LRTP.

Under the proposed amendments, each roadway would be expanded by adding two lanes in each direction, covering the stretch from south of US 92 to north of I-4. The scope of work also includes improvements to the I-4 on-ramps and off-ramps, as well as enhancements to stormwater management. The estimated project costs are approximately $65 million for Branch Forbes Road and $80 million for McIntosh Road.

Anticipated impacts of these amendments include improved roadway safety and mobility, enhanced connectivity, and reduced roadway flooding.

The public is invited to provide feedback on the amendments until 3 p.m. on April 8th, 2025, through the following channels:
