Hillsborough County and its jurisdictions are booming! By 2050, the County is expected to welcome 530,000 new residents — that’s more than the entire population of Tampa today. To prepare for this growth, the Board of County Commissioners has directed staff to expand the Urban Service Area, starting with the Wimauma and Balm areas.

This project will unfold in phases, and your input is crucial. A community survey will be launched soon, giving you a chance to help shape the future of our county.

In November, we’ll also be hosting open house community meetings where you can dive deeper, ask questions, and share your feedback in person. Keep an eye out for announcements on dates and locations — we’d love to see you there!
