Big news from the TPO Board! At the November meeting, the Board gave the green light to open a call for planning projects to include in the next Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028, which will shape the next Long Range Transportation Plan.
So what’s the UPWP all about? Think of it as the roadmap for how the TPO invests its planning resources, whether that’s staff time or consultant support. It’s updated every two years, and for this cycle, the draft plan needs to be ready by mid-March 2026, with final approval in mid-May. This call for projects is just the first step. The Board will have two more chances to weigh in before everything is finalized.
Here’s your chance to get involved: submit your project ideas for consideration! Every project will be reviewed; however, please note that submitting doesn’t guarantee inclusion in the UPWP.
The project request form is now live at https://forms.office.com/g/phRtnTdnmD and will close on December 12 at 5:00 p.m. Don’t miss the deadline! Got questions? Reach out to Jonathan Nixon Elder at [email protected] or Sarah Caper at [email protected]; they’ll be happy to help.
