During the public engagement process for Plan Hillsborough’s 2021 Nondiscrimination Plan, we asked about discrimination and access to transportation, housing, public engagement opportunities, and other community elements. Over the past two months, we have been performing data analysis on over 500 responses and identified some trends and themes in the challenges and ideas that were shared. Those themes, combined with staff feedback and best practices research, were used to create a list of preliminary Recommendations designed to help Hillsborough County grapple with its history of discriminatory planning and move towards a County where there are no longer under-served neighborhoods or demographics.
At this event, we will present our findings and preliminary Recommendations. Then, we will ask for your reactions and feedback. After this event we will be finalizing our Recommendations and putting them in the Nondiscrimination Plan for approval by Plan Hillsborough’s land use and transportation Boards. Our goal is to present the plan to the Hillsborough City-County Planning Commission on August 9, and the Hillsborough Transportation Planning Organizations (TPO) on August 11.
Registration for this event is required. Once registered, you will receive an event confirmation with the event link from Michael Rempfer.
