Celebrate Florida Bike Month

March 2018 – Across Hillsborough County, local elected officials are shining a spotlight on biking in March as part of Florida Bike Month . Bright and early on March 9, Temple Terrace residents rode along with Mayor Mel Jurado, other elected officials, and City staff for the annual Bike with the Mayor event. Mayor Jurado led riders on a leisurely 3.9-mile ride along the beautiful, tree-lined streets of Temple Terrace.

On March 20, the Tampa Downtown Partnership will hold a Bike to Work Ride & Rally. Participants can choose from seven neighborhood meet-up locations for a guided ride with experienced cyclists. All will finish at Lykes Gaslight Square for food, music, information, and fun.

On March 30, Mayor Rick Lott will lead the second annual Ride with the Mayor event in Plant City. Participants will meet at Gilchrist Park, 704 N Pennsylvania Avenue in Plant City at 7am. The first 50 bicyclists to sign in will receive a free T-shirt. Plant City Police will escort the riders along a 3.75 mile ride loop starting at 7:30am.
