Can you find milk, gas, and other daily household needs in your neighborhood?

Unincorporated Hillsborough County Commercial-Locational Criteria Study. Can you meet your daily needs for goods and services near your neighborhood? November 2021 – This is your chance to help set the rules for what types of commercial uses are allowed in residential areas.

We are asking for help answering questions like ‘would you prefer to walk or drive to your local corner store?’ and ‘should apartments be permitted above your neighborhood coffee shop?’. Assist the Planning Commission with the Commercial-Location Criteria Study for Unincorporated Hillsborough County by telling us what changes to the requirements you would like to see at:

The next virtual community meeting will be held in January 2022 to discuss the draft recommendations based off stakeholder and community input. The date and time of the meeting will be posted to the Plan Hillsborough Commercial-Locational Criteria website soon. Planning Commission staff would be happy to come to your neighborhood meetings to provide more information on the study and listen to your ideas.

Please email Andrea Papandrew,, if you would like staff to attend an upcoming meeting.
